Advice
Foot modelling sits in the same family as hand work and is cast the same way — separately from the face, often on its own shoot day, and priced per booking by the agency. It is among the least understood categories in commercial casting and one of the most repeatable.

Clients
Footwear is the obvious one and only part of it. Hosiery and socks, pedicure and nail brands, foot care and pharmacy, sandals and swimwear, sports and running, reflexology and wellness, and a constant stream of e-commerce for retailers shooting hundreds of product images a season.
There is also doubling for film and television, where a close-up of a foot on a stair or a pedal is shot separately from the actor it belongs to.
Casting
Footwear shoots are built around a sample, so UK 5–6 for women and UK 8–9 for men are booked disproportionately often. Outside that range you will still work, just less frequently.
Beyond size, clients want even skin, well-kept nails, straight toes and — above all — stillness. Holding a pointed foot under hot lights for a long take is harder than it sounds.
On the day
Come with the pedicure already done, not fresh — same-day treatment leaves redness. Loose trousers and slip-on shoes so nothing marks your feet before the camera sees them. Bring socks and a warm layer: cold feet mottle on camera and it is the most common practical problem on set.
Expect to be barefoot on a cold floor for hours and expect the shot to be reset repeatedly for reasons nothing to do with you.
Getting on
Photographs first: tops, soles and profile, both feet together and singly, plain background, natural light, nails clean and unpolished. Include your shoe size — it is the first thing a booker checks.
Apply through the apply page, and see the feet board for the standard. Actors who want the same work should read foot modelling in the UK on our acting arm Allied Artists, and commercial bookings run through The Diversity Agency.

Money
Foot work is priced per booking, like all parts modelling — and the steadiest earners are sample-size feet with reliable availability: a retailer that books you once tends to book you all season. Pricing and negotiation are handled by the agency per brief — clients can request the current rate card.
The market
The volume sits with online retail: every footwear, hosiery and foot-care product page needs feet, and ranges refresh constantly — sandals and pedicure briefs spike in spring, boots and slippers in autumn. Around that core: footwear brand campaigns, pharmacy and foot-care packaging, sports and running catalogues, swimwear, wellness and reflexology content, and steady TV and film doubling out of London.
Most of it is agency-cast. A brief lands naming size, skin tone and age range; we submit matching feet from the board the same day; the client books from the submissions. Direct-to-model bookings exist but are rarer and price lower, because nobody is negotiating the licence. Start with the feet board to see the standard, and see the work in practice in Jenna for ASICS.
Men
Trainer culture, men's grooming, socks and sportswear generate a constant stream of male foot briefs, and far fewer men apply than women — which means a man at UK 8–9 with even skin and straight toes faces less competition for more work than almost anywhere else in modelling. The requirements are identical: well-kept natural nails, no hard skin on camera, stillness under lights.

Upkeep
Pedicure on a cadence, never the same day as a shoot — fresh treatment leaves redness the camera finds instantly. Pumice regularly, moisturise daily, keep toenails short and natural. Watch strap tan lines through summer; they take weeks to fade. Loose shoes on shoot days so nothing marks the skin, socks without tight elastic, and always bring warm layers: cold feet mottle on camera and it is the single most common problem on a foot set.
Portfolio
Six honest photographs beat sixty styled ones: tops of both feet together, soles, inner and outer profile, one pointed, one relaxed — plain background, natural daylight, nails clean and unpolished, no filters. State your shoe size in the first line; it is the first thing any booker checks. If the feet fit the board we build proper digitals with you from there. Read the companion guides to hand modelling and fit modelling — many of our models work more than one board.
FAQ
A model booked specifically for their feet: footwear, hosiery, foot care, pharmacy, sports and beauty imagery, plus close-up doubling for film and television. The work is cast separately from face modelling, usually on sample size, skin condition and stillness.
Per booking — every brief prices differently, and the agency negotiates each one for you. E-commerce is the steadiest volume; campaign work prices on the brief. Clients: ask us for the current rate card.

Yes, and male feet are genuinely undersupplied. Trainers, sports, grooming and sock briefs regularly specify male feet, and fewer men apply, so the competition per brief is lower than in most categories.
Photograph both feet in daylight — tops, soles, profiles, pointed and relaxed, plain background, bare nails — include your shoe size, and send them through the apply page. Experience is not required; condition, size and reliability are what get a first booking.
